In this episode of the Inspire Greatness Podcast, we sit down with Sean Russell, the President of the Pacific Region for Global Medical Response (GMR).
Sean brings a deep, frontline-rooted perspective to executive leadership. He began his career as a Flight Paramedic and Respiratory Care Practitioner at REACH—where he helped scale operations from a single base to more than 50 locations—before transitioning into regional strategy. Today, he is a passionate advocate for servant leadership, community collaboration, and supporting the mental well-being of frontline crews.
Sean’s 3 Methods for Inspiring Greatness:
During our conversation, Sean broke down his proven framework for leading high-stakes teams:
- Service over Status: Lead by removing barriers for frontline personnel rather than chasing recognition. True leadership success is defined by how supported your team feels, not by your title.
- Presence over Performance: Stay calm and listen before reacting in unpredictable environments. Great leaders recognize they don’t need to have all the answers immediately.
- Consistency over Heroics (Elevating Everyday Right Action): Consistently notice and name the small, correct decisions team members make. Elevating these daily right actions builds trust much faster than occasional, flashy heroics ever could.
