In this episode of the Inspire Greatness Podcast, I had the opportunity to chat with Jourdan Hathaway, the inspiring Chief Business Officer at General Assembly.
General Assembly is a global leader in talent development and upskilling, helping individuals and companies navigate the rapidly evolving digital economy. As CBO, Jourdan oversees the entire student and client journey—from marketing and admissions to career services and alumni relations—ensuring that the organization remains a future-ready partner for global talent transformation.
Jourdan’s journey from agency marketing to the forefront of EdTech has made her a recognized voice in strategic leadership and business growth. Beyond her role at GA, she serves as a mentor and member of the Exceptional Women Alliance, where she focuses on building inclusive organizations that blend operational excellence with deep human empathy.
During our conversation, Jourdan discussed her three proven methods for inspiring greatness in team members:
- Leading with DRIVEN energy and real-time growth: Using the DRIVEN framework (Determined, Resilient, Impactful, Vulnerable, Empathetic, Nimble) to model the behavior she expects and using real-time feedback as a catalyst for improvement.
- Creating space for clarity, focus, and trust: Helping teams “prune” low-ROI work to focus on the bets that matter while building a culture where teams trust each other to deliver under pressure.
- Building rhythms of connection and adaptive velocity: Recognizing that business is human at its core and naming the “mode” of work—whether it’s a sprint or a time for reflection—to help the team adapt without burnout.
Tune in to be inspired by Jourdan’s wisdom and passion!
